Ontario CMHA branches Kick Off ‘Insuring Our Future’ Campaign to Support Youth Mental Health

The Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) branches in Ontario are proud to announce the launch of ‘Insuring Our Future,’ coinciding with the start of Mental Illness Awareness Week.

The campaign was started by George Rappos, a leader in the insurance sector, and a strong advocate for youth mental health.

“We need to put our young people on a path for success, not only to ensure a healthy economy and a successful society, but because it’s the right thing to do,” said George.  “It catches up to adults when they get into their twenties and thirties – so it’s very important we get help for youth early on.”

The campaign spotlights the need to fund youth mental health and addiction services, which are provided through the 27 branches of CMHA Ontario and their community partners.

Last year, fundraising efforts raised a remarkable $50,000 towards this cause.

This year, CMHA is eager to surpass that amount, especially given the huge demand for mental health and addiction services for Ontario youth in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.

CMHA invites everyone to join hands in ‘Insuring Our Future’ and ensure that our youth receive the mental health care they deserve.
