Here is a note to our golfers from Jason Bauer (McKenzie’s Dad)
October 5th is fast approaching, the long term forecast calls for some showers and cool temperatures. Hopefully we’ll be warmer than last year but regardless I can promise you a fun day. There’ll be a pamphlet given to you with full details and timings for the day. Kim and I thank you for joining us late in the golf season to enjoy the fall colours. We plan to laugh and probably cry remembering our son with good friends. Thank you for your generosity. Many worthy causes are available to us to engage. All of us attending next weekend have the means to make a difference in our communities. We all must make decisions to spend our time and money where we feel it’s needed most. I’m deeply touched and grateful that you’ve chosen our cause to be yours as well. Mental health is more than a recent buzz word. At best, its all of us struggling with stress and anxiety to make ends meet, raise happy healthy children and find time to relax. At its worst, it kills the ones we love and ourselves if left untreated. Your contributions next weekend will help the great people at Canadian Mental Health Association Muskoka-Parry Sound (CMHAMPS) in our beloved Muskoka help those that often have no idea how to escape the turmoil of poor mental health. As friends we can do our best “buddy check” list to help someone struggling and that’s so important. That list should include helping them get professional help that we aren’t qualified or capable of providing. That’s where your contributions come in. CMHAMPS relies on responsible citizens aware of our growing dilemma and the costs associated with providing professional help required to save someone, and indirectly their family and friends from the powerful darkness of depression and many other mental illnesses. CMHAMPS works passionately on all our behalf to save people and improve lives. This includes the hard work and efforts to coordinate the day you’ll enjoy next Saturday. They’re improving your mental state and you didn’t even know it. True professionals. See you next week.
